Current situation

HF is currently the strongest supported lane. Best first working lane: 20m (14.000-14.350 MHz) for UK-Europe. Digital/CW evidence should be treated as stronger than SSB voice unless live voice activity confirms the path.

VHF/UHF: WATCH_ONLY. 6m / 50 MHz: NO_CONFIRMATION - No live Es/beacon/spot confirmation. Do not promote.; 4m / 70 MHz: NO_CONFIRMATION - No live Es/beacon/spot confirmation. Do not promote.; 2m / 144 MHz: MODEL_ONLY - Model support only. Do not promote without beacon/spot confirmation.; 70cm / 432 MHz: MODEL_ONLY - Model support only. Do not promote without beacon/spot confirmation.; 23cm / 1296 MHz: MODEL_ONLY - Model support only. Do not promote without beacon/spot confirmation.; 13cm / 2300 MHz: MODEL_ONLY - Model support only. Do not promote without beacon/spot confirmation.

Tropo/ducting: WATCH_ONLY. Super-refraction support is present, but enhanced VHF/UHF range remains watch-only until confirmed by live evidence.

Satellite/GNSS: GEOMETRY_ONLY. Satellite layer has 16 pass-geometry entries but no matched operator frequency plan. Use for awareness only; do not promote as operating guidance.

User advice:
  • Use the strongest supported working lane first.
  • Treat watch-only paths as monitor/test opportunities, not reliable operating routes.
  • Open the detailed frequency/channel pages for your radio type before acting.
  • Open the Solar Dashboard when flare, radio blackout, CME, proton, Kp or GNSS risk is active.

What the labels mean

Confirmed: evidence supports promotion.

Good support: usable evidence exists, but users should still verify locally.

Watch only: ingredients exist, but not enough confirmation to rely on it.

Not confirmed: APMSS does not currently support relying on this path.

Source unavailable / source limited: data is missing, stale, failed or not mapped. This is not the same as saying the path is closed.

Frequency explanation

Band names are translated into MHz where possible. For example, 20m refers to the HF band around 14 MHz. VHF and UHF channels are usually local or line-of-sight unless repeaters, satellite, tropo, aurora or other propagation mechanisms are confirmed.

Solar-to-radio impact

Solar state: C_LEVEL. Current GOES level is C1.5. No M/X level current event in the GOES strip, but keep monitoring.

APMSS checks GOES flux, flare activity, D-RAP/HF absorption, Kp, proton conditions, CME windows and source health where available. Solar activity can affect HF, high-latitude paths, satellite/GNSS exposure and operational confidence.
